Local Icelandic Wool
Classification: Primitive Wool
Description: White Icelandic wool is renowned for its durability and warmth, ideal for outerwear. It has a double-layer fleece with a fine undercoat and a coarser outer coat, excellent for spinning and felting. The wool is strong, water-resistant, and offers excellent thermal insulation.
- Composition: 100% Icelandic sheep wool
- Weight: Bulky, 100g skein.
- Length: 110 m (120 yd).
- Uses: Sweaters, mittens, hats, durable everyday knits.
Care: Hand wash in lukewarm water, then lay flat to dry.
Usage: Perfect for outerwear, rugs, and durable garments.
Composition & care
100% local Québec wool, hand-dyed with natural dyes (plants, roots, minerals).
Hand wash in cold water, dry flat. Do not tumble dry.
Origin & traceability
Fleeces sourced in Lanaudière. Carded, spun and dyed at the Makeloo studio in Lavaltrie.

Comme je suis vendue à la laine de moutons Islandais, de découvrir que dans les crans rocheux derrière Rimouski il y a un troupeau de qualité de cette race, c'est comme découvrir un trésor. J'en apprécie la texture de la fibre, le toucher, les couleurs naturelles. Que dire de son maintien au tricot ! J'ai juste hâte de poursuivre mes découvertes et d'essayer la lopi, même fibre filée différemment !!!
