Legal Information
We market dyed local wools and other products derived mainly from local wools and fibres. For us, the term “local” refers to products grown, manufactured, or processed close to their point of distribution. Our approach incorporates the values of eco-responsibility and the circular economy.
By highlighting the raw material and living heritage associated with wool, mainly through art, we seek to restore value to local production, which is often neglected due to various issues.
We offer raw fleeces, prepared fibres for spinning and felting, and wool yarns for your creative projects. Finally, we share our knitting and contemporary art projects.
We aim to promote the benefits of using local wool in everyday life. To achieve this goal, as professional spinners, we are committed to conducting field research with breeders of purebred sheep, with whom we could establish solid, lasting partnerships in exchange for knowledge for a sustainable economy. We already have long-standing partners such as Ferme Gladus in Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola in Lanaudière, Biscornu in Rimouski in Bas-du-Fleuve and La ferme La Pointe à Gédéon in Lac-Saint-Jean.
OUR MISSION
Our mission also includes valuing wool as heritage. This raw material, often overlooked, neglected, and mistreated, is part of our cultural heritage, present in our textile traditions, and remains a critical element of our current social and multicultural activities.
Sharing, Ecoresponsibility, Circular Economy, Community.
THE ONERS
Marcelo Martins established his workshop in 2018 with a vision focused on sharing and commitment to the community and his healing. In 2022, after a professionalization phase, he formed a new partnership with Patrice Blanchet, giving birth to their local wool brand, “De par chez nous.” Their launch at the Salon Plein Art 2022 was a great success, reinforcing their passion for textiles. In December of the same year, they presented their line of knitting yarns made entirely from natural fibres at the Salon des métiers d'art de Montréal. At the same time, Marcelo has been collaborating for several years with organizations such as the CQPV, Rond-Point, and the Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec.
Marcelo has extensive experience in the textile sector, having started as a child. He is an expert spinner and has trained at the Woollearn Make Center and Old College to become a Master Spinner and a Master's degree in Sociocultural. For his part, Patrice excels in weaving and knitting on antique circular machines. He is also a skilled visual artist in 2D and 3D animation.
Marcelo and Patrice share their passion for spinning and knitting with simplicity and openness. Passing on know-how is at the heart of their products. What sets them apart from other wool brands at knitting shows is that they offer several local sheep breeds. They evoke their local producers, sharing anecdotes with you. Their colours are inspired by our landscapes and stories to make our winters more pleasant. All dyeing is done by hand. Every choice in their workshop is justified to meet a project's intention or need.
We are privileged to collaborate with several quality producers and the only Merino farm in Quebec. We are involved in two research teams on fibre production and fashion.
